Quelques conseils et astuces pour vous aider à faire votre choix chez Twinner - Sport Emotion aux 2 Alpes
How to choose your new ski boots?
The shape of your feet is the #1 criteria. Nowadays, there are ski boots for thin, large, or intermediate foot width, and inner boots adapted to each foot shape. It is important to choose first a type of boots corresponding to the shape of the feet. Then you must select the model coherent with your ski level. A high technical level requires relatively rigid boots for a better transmission of the movements to the skis and thus for more precision. An average level requires fairly soft boots, which will provide more comfort and forgive some small mistakes. All the selected models in our shop have « thermoformable » inner boots, which will take the shape of your feet on the most prominent areas of them, after being heated on a special machine. By trying on several models and taking your time, there is no way you could choose the wrong boots. In case you should encounter a problem, we adapt and customise all the boots sold in our shop, for free.
How to choose your new skis?
The choice of your new skis has to be determined by an extensive and careful dialogue with our staff. A pair of skis cannot be chosen in 5 minutes. Talks, listening and advice are keys to success.
Many factors can be analysed :
- Your technical level : Beginner, intermediate, expert ?
- Your practice : Piste, versatile, racing, freeride, freestyle ?
- Your profile : Technical, aggressive, rapid, relaxed, for leisure ?
- Your ski style : short curves, large curves, alternate style ?
- The feelings you are looking for : Performance, pleasure, leisure, progression
- And of course, your budget.
We offer in our shop a large range of skis covering all levels and experiences. Our selection gives you the opportunity, always, to find the skis you require.
What about skis for ladies?
Women generally have a more « seated » position on the skis, delicate in heavy or icy slopes, because their hips stand more backwards than those of men. In order to help women come more forwards on the skis and thus to facilitate their turn, behaviour in the curve and counter motion, the ski manufacturers have adapted their skis by putting their centre some centimetres forward and by slightly raising the back of the bindings. Apart from taking into account the anatomical differences, they also have lightened and a little bit softened the skis for ladies for more comfort and facility.
How to choose your new board?
To choose your board properly, you have to ask yourself several questions :
- What is my technical level ?
- For how long have I been practising ?
- Am I still in a stage of progression or am I close to my maximum ?
- What is my practice type : Piste, versatile, freeride, freestyle, jumps, snowpark exclusively?
- What is the size of my feet ?
- Do I need a standard board or a wide one ?
- Do I like nervous boards, tonic ones, soft ones, or ones with a progressive flex
?
- Without forgetting the type of decoration I want and my budget ?
If you answer to those questions, it is quite easy to find your ideal board.
